Public Notice As part of the Installation Restoration Program (IRP) and Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP), the United States Army Garrison-Hawaii (USAG-HI) is soliciting public interest in forming a Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) for sites that are administratively associated with Pohakuloa Training Area on the Island of Hawaii, Hawaii. The purpose of a RAB is to promote community involvement in the Army’s local environmental restoration efforts. RABs provide the public the opportunity to regularly review progress and engage decision makers on the restoration of previously used sites. Every two years the Army solicits public interest in establishing a RAB for these sites. This solicitation is part of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) process, as required by the Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP). If you are interested in participating in a RAB for this installation or would like additional information, please contact the USAG-HI Directorate of Public Works, Ms. Melissa Evans-Shontofski, at 808-824-1352, or Melissa.l.evans-shontofski.civ@army.mil between September 19 and October 18, 2022.
