NEIL S. NISHIDA Neil transitioned, surrounded by family and friends, on November 5, 2023, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on January 11, 1954, in Hilo, Hawaii. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Yayoi Nishida. He is survived by his wife, Gerri; his siblings: Karen, Craig (Diane), Beverly (Jeffrey); his in-laws, nephews, nieces and a host of long-time friends. Neil was a Mechanical Engineer. He also worked in various positions from 1976 – 2002, at United Airlines in Hilo, Kahului and Honolulu. He loved the ocean, diving, surfing, swimming, tennis, golfing, running, hiking, skiing, playing his guitar and traveling. Neil brought so much joy, laughter and sense of community to everyone! He had a way of making those around him feel comfortable and important. He touched all of us. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 9, 2024, on the Big Island, at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Moku ‘Ola 1 Ballroom and breezeway at 11:00 a.m.
