OPENING OF THE PROJECT-BASED VOUCHER (PBV) WAITING LIST

EAH Housing is pleased to announce the opening of the waiting list for Project-Based Voucher (PBV) units: Thursday, March 21, 2024 through Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

After the waiting list closes, a random selection by lottery of all applications determines position on the waiting list. The date and time of receipt of the application has no bearing on it’s position on the waiting list.

The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) administers the Project-Based Voucher Program with federal funds received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and provides rental assistance to very-low-income families. Hale Na Koa ‘O Hanakahi is awarded 50 Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Units

Occupancy for 50 units anticipated in May 2024

OHCD determines eligibility for the Project-Based Voucher (PBV) program based on the total gross income and family size. Eligibility is also limited to US citizens and specific categories of non-citizens with eligible immigration status. In general, the family’s income may not exceed 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) by Hawaii County:

Only applications received by March 27, 2024 or post-marked by March 27, 2024 at the latest, will be included in the initial lottery. Any application not selected in the initial lottery, along with any application received or post-marked after March 27, 2024, will be placed on the program’s waitlist based on the date, and time the application was received.
