The County of Hawaii, Hawaii, Hawaii Department of Public Works, Engineering Division for Community No. 155166, hereby gives notice of the Hawaii County’s intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located approximately 2,000 feet upstream of the confluence with Ainako Stream and approximately 3,600 feet upstream of the confluence with Ainalo Stream. The flood hazard revisions are being proposed as part of Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR) Case No. 25-09-1131R for a proposed project along Tributary 1 to Ainako Stream. Hilo Benioff Medical Center is proposing to add and extend the existing parking lot as part of providing more parking areas for patients and staffing. Once the project has been completed, a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) request should be submitted that will, in part, revise the following flood hazards along Tributary 1 to Ainako Stream. 1. Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) will increase and decrease along Tributary 1 to Ainako Stream 2. The SFHA will increase and decrease along Tributary 1 to Ainako Stream Maps and detailed analysis of the revision can be reviewed at the office of Hawaii County Engineering Division, 101 Pauahi Street, Suite 7, Hilo, Hawaii.
