WAYNE THOMAS KOVNER SCHUBERT Wayne Thomas Kovner Schubert Wayne Thomas Kovner Schubert Sr. passed away peacefully at his Honolulu home on March 28, 2026. Born on June 24, 1938, to Peter Sr. and Henriette Schubert of Honolulu, HI. He was a team motorcycle rider and mechanic for the family shop Schubert’s Cyclery in Honolulu during the 1950s. He retired from GTE (Hawaiian Telephone) after 25 years and owned the family business Kleen Master Hawaii for 31 years. He enjoyed golfing with friends and family, traveling with his wife Louise (driving Route 66), attending national oval track motorcycle races in California and Illinois, driving his vintage Ford truck, and riding his Triumph motorcycle, family dinners involving grilling and pizza nights, and a good bottle of wine. Wayne is survived by wife, Louise “Gussie,” sons Wayne Thomas Jr., Peter Kovner III (Hollie Amano), Raephael Kiaina (Kainoa), daughters Waynette-Anne (Greg) Sumiki and Katherine-Anne; sister Kathleen Luich of San Jose, CA, and sister-in-law Verna Schubert of Honolulu; ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Sr. and Henriette, and brothers Peter Jr. and Charles Kendall.
