The State of Hawaii Department of Health will hold a public hearing for the proposed amendment of Hawaii Administrative Rules chapter 11-41, which regulates individuals and businesses performing lead-based paint activities and providing lead-based paint activities training courses. The proposed amendments align state regulations with updates to the US Environmental Protection Agency’s federal lead-based paint activities program. Changes are also proposed to improve clarity.
The proposed amendments are posted online at health.hawaii.gov/irhb/lead/ and can be viewed at 99-945 Halawa Valley Street Aiea, Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm (except state holidays). Copies will be mailed on payment of a copy fee and postage; call 808-586-4700 to request.
The public hearing will be at 10am on December 13, 2022 at the State Lab auditorium at 2725 Waimano Home Rd Pearl City. All interested parties may attend to present relevant information and individual opinion.
