NOTICE OF PRESCHOOL OPEN DOORS APPLICATION PERIOD
Pursuant to Hawaii Administrative Rules, Chapter 17-799-5, notice is hereby given that the Department of Human Services will be accepting applications for the Preschool Open Doors (POD) program starting November 1, 2022 through the closing date of November 30, 2022. Applications received during this application period are for consideration for POD program participation during the period of January 1, 2023 through June 30, 2023.
Families with children who will be enrolling into kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year are encouraged to apply. The POD program provides child care payments to eligible families so that their child is able to receive up to a year of preschool experience prior to their entry into kindergarten. Funding for POD is limited, priority for program selection are detailed in the POD administrative rules, which can be found at the link below:

Interested families may request an application beginning November 1, 2022 from the Department’s POD contractor, PATCH, through their website:

Applications must be received at the POD office by November 30, 2022 in order to be considered for the remainder of the July 1, 2022 – June 30, 2023 POD program year.
