NOTICE TO MOTORISTS The County of Hawai'i Department of Parks and Recreation announces that Lihiwai Street, located within Hilo's Lili'uokalani Gardens Park, at the intersection of Banyan Drive and Lihiwai Street to the Isle's parking lot will be closed to vehicular traffic from 2:00am Friday, September 8th to 6:00pm Saturday, September 9th, 2023 for the 24th Annual Queen Lili'uokalani Festival in Hilo's Lili'uokalani Gardens Park. ROAD CLOSURE TUESDAY, JULY 4, 2023 The County of Hawaii in partnership with Destination Hilo, Hawaii Explosives & Pyrotechnics, and the State of Hawaii are proud to present the Fourth of July - Hilo Bay Blast 2023. This year's Fourth of July Celebration will feature various activities throughout the day, a performance by the Hawaii County Band at 7pm, culminating with the traditional Fireworks Exhibition at 8pm in Hilo Bay. July 13, 2022 ALTERNATING ONE-LANE ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE AFFECTED AREA: HONOKA'A-WAIPI'O ROAD; HONOKA' HAMAKUA, HAWAI'I (SEE MAP) The Department of Water Supply, County of Hawai'i, will be working on Honoka'a-Waipi'o Road near the 5.5-mile mark from 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, to install a new water service lateral. NOTICE TO ALL COUNTY RESIDENTS CLOSURES&NEW HOURS Miloli'i Transfer Station Final Closure January 22, 2022 and Oceanview Transfer Station New Hours of Operation Hawai'i State law now prohibits waste or disposal facilities, such as transfer stations, from being located and operating in a conservation district. The new law and the expiration of the Department of Health Permit to operate the transfer station requires the permanent closure of the Miloli'i Transfer Station.
