NOTICE TO MOTORISTS The County of Hawaii Department of Parks and Recreation, Culture and Education Division announces that Lihiwai Street, located within the Queen Lili'uokalani Gardens, at the intersection of Banyan Drive and Lihiwai Street to the Isle's parking lot will be closed to vehicular traffic from 2:00am Friday, September 9th to 6:00pm Saturday, September 10th, 2022 for the 23rd Annual Queen Lili'uokalani Festival in the Queen Lili'uokalani Gardens. July 13, 2022 ALTERNATING ONE-LANE ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE AFFECTED AREA: HONOKA'A-WAIPI'O ROAD; HONOKA' HAMAKUA, HAWAI'I (SEE MAP) The Department of Water Supply, County of Hawai'i, will be working on Honoka'a-Waipi'o Road near the 5.5-mile mark from 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, to install a new water service lateral. One alternating lane with traffic control will remain open throughout the installation. Motorists could experience delays and should plan accordingly. Please pardon this temporary inconvenience. Jul 24(13.) NOTICE TO MOTORISTS Department of Public Works Highway Maintenance Division will be repairing the road on Kaumana Drive from Country Club Drive to Kuakolu Place. Jul 11(14.) From 7 a.m.- 3 p.m. on Thursday July 21st Keaukaha Road in the area of Kealoha Beach park / 4 miles will be closed for a scheduled police operation / event. Through traffic will not be allowed in beach park during event and motorists are advised to take Kalanianaole street. Traffic cones and beach park gates will be present in marking closure. ROAD CLOSURE MONDAY, JULY 4, 2022 The County of Hawaii in partnership with Destination Hilo, Hawaii Explosives & Pyrotechnics, and the State of Hawaii are proud to present the Fourth of July - Hilo Bay Blast 2022. This year's Fourth of July Celebration will feature various activities throughout the day, a performance by the Hawaii County Band at 7pm, culminating with the traditional Fireworks Exhibition at 8pm in Hilo Bay. NOTICE TO ALL COUNTY RESIDENTS CLOSURES&NEW HOURS Miloli'i Transfer Station Final Closure January 22, 2022 and Oceanview Transfer Station New Hours of Operation Hawai'i State law now prohibits waste or disposal facilities, such as transfer stations, from being located and operating in a conservation district. The new law and the expiration of the Department of Health Permit to operate the transfer station requires the permanent closure of the Miloli'i Transfer Station.
